Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy

This web site provides information of a general nature and is for information only.  We do not assist people to end their lives and strongly encourage those requiring professional assistance to consult a health professional or professional counsellor – DWDnsw may be able to assist in putting you in contact with a health professional or professional counsellor. Reliability of Information
While we try to ensure information provided on this site is reliable and accurate at the time of posting, it may become dated; we encourage you to contact us if you note any inaccuracies in our information.  You should supplement information provided on this site by making other inquiries and by seeking expert counsel prior to making any important decision. We provide links and references to other sites, but we do not endorse or necessarily approve the content of those sites nor does DWDnsw accept responsibility for material published on such sites.

Use of Collected Information
We want to make the use of our website easy, useful and reliable. To do this we sometimes place small amounts of information on your device – cookies.  They cannot be used to identify you personally but they can help us make your experience as a visitor better.

We collect information on you (e.g. names and contact details) in order to manage the services we provide.  The information we collect could be by way of membership details, notes of meetings and correspondence (both electronic and paper based).  We also collect other information from our web server logs to aid in site usage analysis. We may use third parties to host our web services and/or capture data for analysis and provision to DWDnsw. However, we only record and retain information you specifically provide as a result of an inquiry or message you send to us. We will not use your email address for any other purpose and will not disclose it without your consent, unless directed to do so by law.

DWDnsw respects your privacy and will not reveal membership information without your consent.

The DWDnsw site is subject to copyright. You may reproduce, print and display information from the site provided you do not alter the meaning or thrust of the material and provided it is for non-profit use, research or study. If you use DWDnsw material, please credit us as the source. Material from other sites is subject to their copyright requirements.

Request to use DWDnsw information for other than non-profit purposes should be made to Dying with Dignity New South Wales Inc. (DWDnsw) at its registered address or by email.

Storage of Collected Information
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) on our website, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). When Credit Card details are collected, we simply pass them on in order to be processed as required. We never permanently store complete Credit Card details on our web site.

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.

Access to Collected Information
If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may request that the information be corrected, updated, deleted or deactivated by emailing us at [email protected].  Where possible DWDnsw will make the requested change.

If you take out membership, make a donation or purchase a product or service from us, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. You may be required to provide contact information (such as name, email, and postal address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date).

We use this information for billing purposes and to undertake the on-line transaction. If we have difficulty in completing the transaction, we will use this information to contact you.

DWDnsw uses personally identifiable information for essential communications, such as emails, accounts information, and critical service details. We may also use this information for other purposes, including some promotional emails and newsletters. If at any time a member wishes not to receive such correspondence, they can request to be removed from any mailing lists by emailing us at [email protected].

You will be notified when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.

Third Parties
DWDnsw may at its discretion use other third parties to provide essential services on our site or for other purposes. We may share your details as necessary for the third party to provide that service.

These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

DWDnsw does not share any information with third parties for any unknown or unrelated uses.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.

Links on the DWDnsw site to external entities are not covered within this policy. The terms and conditions set out in this privacy statement only cover the domain name of www.dwdnsw.org.au.

Changes to Privacy Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our homepage.

DWDnsw Security Policy

DWDnsw uses the eWAY Payment Gateway for its online credit card transactions. eWAY processes online credit card transactions for thousands of Australian merchants, providing a safe and secure means of collecting payments via the Internet. All online credit card transactions performed on this site using the eWAY gateway are secured payments and

  • Payments are fully automated with an immediate response.
  • Your complete credit card number cannot be viewed by DWDnsw or any outside party.
  • All transactions are processed using an SSL Certificate.
  • All transaction data is encrypted for storage within eWAY’s bank-grade data centre, further protecting your credit card data.
  • eWAY is an authorised third party processor for all the major Australian banks.
  • eWAY at no time touches your funds; all monies are directly transferred from your credit card to the merchant account held by DWDnsw.

Delivery Policy

We will normally confirm receipt of your membership/donation transaction within a few minutes of making that transaction.

Membership is subject to the terms of DWDnsw constitution. If you processed your payment on-line using a credit/debit card, you will also receive an email confirmation from eWAY containing your order details (if you have provided your email address).

If the transaction is for other than membership or donation, we will attempt to send your goods via Australia post within ten working days; however if goods are unavailable delivery will take a little longer.  If you wish to query a delivery please contact us at [email protected].

If the transaction is for attendance at an event, we will attempt to confirm your attendance, or not, at the event by email confirmation or Australia Post communication within  seven working days. If you wish to query attendance please contact us at [email protected] or phone 02 9212 4786.

Refund & Returns Policy

Membership and donations are non-refundable.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with other purchases we will give you a ten day money-back guarantee from the time you receive the goods. Please email us at [email protected] within that time if you are not satisfied with your purchase so that we can resolve any problems.

This refund policy does not apply to goods which have been worn or used, damaged after delivery, or if any attempt has been made to alter the product or if they have been dropped or broken. All products must be returned in their original condition. All postage and insurance costs are to be paid by you. We recommend that you return the product via registered post and that you pre-pay all postage. You assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit therefore we advise you take out shipment registration of insurance with your carrier. DWDnsw will not be responsible for parcels lost or damaged in transit if you choose not to insure.
