A letter promoted by a Weekend Sunrise Segment
After seeing a discussion on Weekend Sunrise between Doctor David Swanton and a Palliative Care Doctor who insisted on interrupting the pro DWD doctor a member was prompted to write the following:
End of Life Care My Life, My Death, My Choice.
Re article by Peter Munro Sun Herald 15/1/12 "Son`s mercy killing splits family"
I wholehearedly agree with Sean Davidson`s compassionate decision to assist his mum to have a peaceful and dignified death
No other example of such a peculiarity
Dear Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott,
Suicide has been de-criminalised in all Australian states and territories and there is no longer any punishment levelled against a suicide's estate. In the recent 7.30 Report in NSW, Quentin Demster mentioned that assisting or inciting suicide is illegal and has a penalty of 10 years. Well, here in WA the penalty that can be imposed is a draconian Life Imprisonment.
Keep your PRYING out of my DYING!
To Bishop Fisher,
I have just been watching your interview with Quentin Dempster and was so angered by your "redemptive suffering" comments that I had to move away from the computer (so that I didn't put my fist through the screen)!
Why does God let people suffer?
Dear Rev Bates,
Quakers Hill Anglician Church
I heard your interview on the ABC a couple of nights ago I think it was on Tony Delroy`s Nightlife. When asked why does God let people who have lost quality of life, suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s, incontinence and the like, I got the impression that in your view this is just God`s way. He does not interfere with people’s lives. If this is your view, I do not agree. We do not even let our animals suffer, so why should the dying be allowed to linger on indefinitely in nursing homes?
