Despite the COVID pandemic delaying debate of the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Bill in New South Wales, the Bill was able to pass decisively in the Lower House – 52 votes to 32 on Friday 26 November 2021. You can read about the campaign milestones along the way to reaching the historic vote as well as the hurdles the VAD legislation still faces. 

As predicted in the previous newsletter, Queensland became the fifth state to pass a VAD law.
