OUR WINTER NEWSLETTER WITH THE LATEST NEWS FROM AUSTRALIA AND OVERSEAS

Our Winter 2020 Newsletter aims to bring everyone up-to-date with the latest developments from across Australia and around the world.

We report on the impact of COVID-19 on DWD’s community advocacy training and reveal how the current overseas travel restrictions have thrown doubt over the end of life plans of terminally ill Australians including DWD member, Janet Cohen.

As Victoria marks the first anniversary of its historic VAD law we feature the story of Nia Sims who hopes to one day access this compassionate end of life option.

This newsletter also includes an interesting article by Drs Peter Beahan and Richard Lugg in which they compare voluntary assisted dying with the practice of terminal sedation.

Disappointingly there isn’t much to report from NSW, however, there is a lot happening in the second half of 2020 with action in New Zealand, Tasmania and possibly South Australia.

This newsletter also includes our regular reports from our branches on the Mid North Coast and the Central Coast as well as from the Christians Supporting Choice for Voluntary Assisted Dying. Click to download – Dying with Dignity NSW Winter 2020 Newsletter
