Ruth Bearpark (she/her) joined Dying with Dignity NSW in 2024 as Community Organiser. With qualifications in International Development, Community Development, and Community Education, Ruth has worked for 30 years in communities affected by HIV and viral hepatitis across Australia and the Pacific.
Person-centred and equitable healthcare are core values in Ruth’s work, which deepened while supporting her father in his final years at home, where he died in January 2023.
Drawing on both professional and personal experience, Ruth aims to foster connection, raise awareness, and contribute to communities so that empathy, dignity, and autonomy are at the heart of our end-of-life. After all, we all hope for a good death at the end of a well-lived life.
