Penny Hackett
President

Penny has been president of DWDNSW since 2018 as has been involved in our cause since 2016.

She has worked as a lawyer in the financial services and banking industries for over 30 years and is presently legal counsel for a funds management and corporate finance business. Her professional qualifications are in law and economics and she is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

She’s been heavily involved in the not-for-profit sector since 2010, initially in the area of public education funding and student capacity in NSW public schools.

Since getting involved with Dying with Dignity NSW, she has been involved in all aspects of campaigning for voluntary assisted laws, including as part of the leadership of the Voluntary Euthanasia Party which sought to keep the need for law reform on the political agenda.
