Dr Stephanie Short is an honorary professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney with a clinical and academic background, initially as a registered physiotherapist, then as an academic health sociologist and academic manager. Stephanie joined the Board in April 2022 as the Chair of the former Central Coast Group of Dying with Dignity New South Wales.
Stephanie served on the Board of Directors of the Community Health Association of NSW for ten years, and as Company Director for KU Children's Services (which operates over 130 early childhood services across Australia), on the Board of the International Sociological Association Research Committee on Sociology of Professional Groups, and as a Senior Advisor on the Design, Reform and Implementation of Health Practitioner Regulation across countries to the World Health Organization in Geneva.
Stephanie also serves as a non-executive director on the Board of the Central Coast Community Women's Health Centre and the Board of the Hunter New England & Central Coast Primary Health Network.
Dr Short has particular expertise in sociology, ethics and health, health policy analysis, strategic thinking and health workforce development.
